Before we dive into the strategy that generated 3500+ clicks per month, let’s see what Google Discover is and how it is beneficial for SEO.
What is Google Discover?
Google Discover is a feature that suggests personalized content to users based on their interests, location, and search history.
Where does Google Discover Content appear?
According to Google, it appears:
- In the Google app .
- On your Android phone or tablet, in your browser on google.com.
- On some devices, swipe right from your device’s home screen.
It helps users discover new and interesting content according to their interests and preferences without actively searching for it.
What is its significance for Businesses and SEO?
Google Discover can be significant for businesses and SEO because it provides an opportunity for their content to be discovered by users who may not have actively searched for it.
By optimizing their content for relevant topics and keywords, businesses can increase their chances of appearing in a user’s Discover feed.
This can lead to
- increased visibility,
- website traffic, and
- brand awareness.
In addition to that, by monitoring the performance of their content in Discover, businesses can gain insights into their audience’s interests and preferences, which can be further used to develop their content strategy.
Based on these insights, SEOs can focus on the content topics that are performing well on Google Discover to keep winning clicks and traffic to their site.
How I Increased Google Discover Traffic on Real Estate Blog from 0 to 4500 clicks per day [CASE STUDY]
Back in 2022, we got to work on a Real Estate News Blog that was publishing a huge load of content but their food print on Google Discover was minimal.
Based on our Analysis of the Industry and the Competitive landscape, we realized that the blog has huge potential in terms of Google Discover traffic.
We set on to convert that potential to reality.
We made 3 major changes to the News Site:
1- Technical SEO Improvements:
First of all, we added News Article Schema markup to the News SIte. If you don’t know what Schema Markup is, it is
“A structured data format that helps search engines better understand the content on a webpage. It uses a set of standardized tags to provide context and meaning to different types of content, such as articles, products, and events.”

2- Focus on E-EAT:
We discovered that E-EAT Signals (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trustworthiness) were missing from the site.
We added detailed author bios and author profiles of real-estate experts that were working with the site. The objective was to make the site trustworthy and reliable in the eyes of users and Google.
